Carriers of Dreams – Nishant Charitable Trust’s Bag Donation Initiative

Nishant Charitable Trust (NCT) :

Dedicated to uplifting underprivileged children in the slums of Mumbai by promoting literacy and education.

NCT has established Support Schools within these slum areas to ensure that children receive a comprehensive education along with essential support.

Recognising the critical need for school supplies in these communities, NCT has undertaken the responsibility of equipping these children for their educational journey.

To address the issue of inadequate access to school supplies, NCT has initiated a program where they provide stationery items to these young learners.

Additionally, NCT has gone the extra mile by hiring dedicated teachers who not only educate but also form meaningful bonds with the children.

As part of this endeavour, NCT, with the assistance of their volunteers and teachers, donated 150 backpacks to the students.

These backpacks are not just empty carriers; they are filled with stationery, tiffins, and water bottles, ensuring that these children have all the necessary tools and resources to thrive in their pursuit of education.

NCT’s commitment to empowering these children through education is truly remarkable and inspiring.

Children in the slums often face significant barriers to receiving inadequate education due to a lot of factors.

Families in the slums often struggle to make ends meet, so the cost of their child’s education can pose a burden to them.

Areas like these also lack proper infrastructure which can cause a hindrance for the children willing to receive education. In Mumbai, the BMC is doing an exceptional job of establishing government-run schools to encourage literacy among children.

However, the slums in Mumbai are often situated in remote areas. Due to this, the children living here may find it difficult to travel to these schools regularly.

 Efforts by organisations like Nishant Charitable Trust aim to address these challenges by providing support, resources, and educational opportunities to children in slum areas, helping to break the cycle of poverty.
